Woolgathering...

I believe it's ended. One story started and stopped, another refuses to be written, so I took needed time off. I don't know about other authors but I sometimes wake up with a full blown story brewing faster than percolating coffee in my head! Trick is getting the main plot in black and white quickly! I hope this one continues to move along as nicely as it started. A small taste below, the cover story, and it will probably go through a few transitions as the story takes shape. The cover tells quite a bit!

NOTHING LEFT OF ME

Beauty is not fleeting when worn by an immortal.

Brax Sevan rules immortals populating earth; wily creatures humans attempt to ridiculously explain away with childish tales of boogeymen or ghosts. Brax and his underlings see to annihilation of beasts who become careless and those who defiantly flaunt rules. Boredom sent him to delve into why, and how, one of his kind killed a powerful subordinate. What he finds sways steadfast objectivity, strips him of calm reserve and aloofness honed over many lifetimes. The individual starts a fire in Brax that will not be suppressed and what he does next may cost his powerful position leaving people vulnerable to blood thirsty monsters.

Cador Ridge spent hundreds of years as a consort to emperors, kings, powerful men from every walk of life, but he bows to no one. Then or now. His existence, though sometimes rife with loneliness, is perfect until another like him dies at Cador’s hand. Running was useless as there is no place to hide from those the self-appointed leader of supernatural beings would assemble to find him. He doesn’t expect the supreme one to pay a personal visit. Nor did Cador believe the contemptuous bastard would take everything—but his life!

New--#1 in LGBT Horror Fiction

Bloodied Venom
Serpentine Vampires 2

BLURB:
When two lives entwine, death becomes abhorrent.

Hail Patrascu, an ancestor of Transylvania’s Draculesti family line, wields unique powers as the world’s oldest living vampire. Searching for death, he becomes something phenomenal after drinking venom infused blood. Not only does he possess vampiric powers, he’s been imbued with those of an even older creature—a serpentine. A snake, heretofore unable to change form, is animated with Hail’s vampire blood and now the monster seeks life of its own!

McCall Stephens had one drink; not nearly enough to imagine what he witnesses after being accosted in an alley. A beast so fiendish, it took the life of a man right before Call’s eyes. Now it stalks him. He haunts Call with eroticism, each encounter tugging him closer to a dark abyss with impossible promises. Giving in, he may lose everything—including his life! Or will Call’s wildest dreams come true?

The last in a short story series of standalone paranormal MM romances. Coarse language, masturbation, explicit sex, abuse flashback, and a little bloody horror. But there’s an HEA and no cliffhanger!

EXCERPT:
Earth beneath him felt warm, fragrant grass, silky against his belly, teemed with insects. He accomplished progressing across the expanse of earth to a nearby building rapidly. Stone buildings loomed floors above while he stuck to corners where walls joined pavement. Tongue flicked slowly before he felt vibrations through every inch of his body. Grunts of pain followed angry words he marveled at deciphering. Nearing the spot in a dark alley they emanated from, heat blasted him.
Watching dispassionately as two men wrestled to the cement, it wasn’t until a fragrance filled tiny nostrils causing the appendage in his strange mouth to whip out incessantly. That smell! Eyes immediately pegged the slender man he knew emitted the scent he could only describe as pure bliss. It worked itself into his lungs, stabbed into his psyche filling him with hunger never before experienced. The bigger man subdued the other by knocking his head against a large metal receptacle. He turned the victim to his belly and attempted to drag trousers down as he undid his own belt, but his opponent continued bucking beneath the vile attacker. Loud pleas blasted hearing that became painfully sensitive.
“Don’t do this. God in Heaven, stop!”
Noise from the assailant’s zipper sent anxious shivers through coils along his body as he approached the hideous scene.
“Be still you bastard.”
“No!”
“Keep fighting, I’ll cut your prick off and shove it in your mouth.”
Having witnessed enough, surprise filled him when he didn’t have to struggle with his own monster to aid the slight victim, the one whose aroma continued to wreath his head. Conquering his inner demon had been impossible for weeks. He recognized hands first, legs quickly slipped from an underbelly touching cold stone. After his head broke through leathery skin, he pulled himself to his full height of six-foot two inches. Not bothering to clothe himself, unsure even if he could perform that feat, dark hair hung damply over his shoulder. Sweeping it back, he noticed his muscular body glistened with his creature’s secretions as he closed distance between himself and the would-be rapist. Grabbing him by the back of his shirt collar, he lifted the man a foot from the ground and smashed him face first against the wall. Releasing him, he waited for the culprit to twist toward him before rasping, “Use me.”
The first words Hail Patrascu spoke in weeks.
Beefy fist swung and missed. “You fucker. I’ll kill you.”
“You cannot kill what doesn’t truly live.” Feet scuffled across pavement as Hail watched the smaller man scramble behind a dumpster. He ignored him for the moment. Eyes he quickly surmised would be filled with hellfire leaping from perfectly round black pupils riveted the human in front of him to the wall. Loosing talons, he pierced a vein below the ear of the sorry excuse for a man.
“Jesus! What the hell are you doing?”
“I’m killing you.” A rivulet of blood coursed down his neck soaking his shirt while Hail lapped at blood on his finger. Repulsive. “Despicable taste of someone already dead inside.” Yet his lifeforce revitalized Hail, yanked memories of a different life to the forefront of his mind.
“Please…I… God!”
Fangs clicked into place and he marveled at hooked points his tongue met on ends of incisors. Teeth he’d used to capture small forest mammals. They dripped with a substance he touched and contemplated. Thick yellow fluid tinged red. Clamping onto the man’s jugular, he gathered, as had happened with animals he recently ingested, venom replaced blood he gulped. It raced through veins to the perpetrator’s heart and in mere seconds, he went limp. “Paralyzed but you’ll hear and feel for a minute or two.” Letting him hit the ground hard, Hail gasped air as if a drowning man as pictures flashed in his head of each male the scum raped and mutilated. “Unbelievable I championed humans if there are more like you.” A whimper snatched attention to the other guy. Extraordinary vision revealed green eyes stretched wide in a distorted face peeping from behind the trash bin.
Fuck me! His first foray a major distance from the nest he usurped from a rattler whose mind he never could interpret ends in death. Now what? Dispose of the filth or leave him?
His mind became clearer with each second he imagined ticked by.
Hail stood naked over a body local police would conclude expired due to a lethal snake bite rendered by a reptile that exists thousands of miles away yet somehow found itself in the middle of a small city crowded with people. They’d assume it escaped from God knows where, put out a warning, and forget about it as soon as a better story surfaced. Leave him.
Another dilemma existed.
The man cringing in trash and putrid waste could only be convinced he saw nothing if bitten by Hail allowing him to gain mind control. Bite him, he dies also. Oddly, the human’s unique odor spelled out a more bothersome issue as far as Hail was concerned. He had no regret over killing the vermin at his feet; his action saved many men from an act that, if it didn’t end with their death, would leave them scarred for life. Hail’s regret came from recognizing the cowering man belonged to… Shit! Who did he belong to? Reptile, or vampire, who, until fifteen minutes ago, shared the serpent’s long, cold coils. Every memory buried in the devious reptile’s tiny, twisted brain rushed forth. Including the fact Hail had paid a creature with great powers to terminate his exceptionally long life. Movement alerted him to the man standing and bolting from the alley leaving Hail uncertain how to proceed. Follow him. Discover where he resides.
Then locate Paladin Bodine—the serpentine bastard who owed him death.
“Goddamn it, I’m alive.”

A bit of conversation:

Scott walked past his boss. Reaching outside, he spied another large man slouched against the same black car he’d seen today. Frowning, he sniped, “God knows what they feed you big bastards in Philadelphia.”

“Best cheesesteaks in the world. Name’s Dan. You carrying any weapons?” Car door remained closed.

“For crying out loud; you want to see?” Scott unzipped his vest and pirouetted. “Want to feel me up?” He hadn't missed the gleam in Reed's eyes when he spun for Dan.

“Not particularly. Pants tight as yours don’t hide much.” Dan opened the door.

“Explains why you’re eyeballing my big dick.”

The man opened the door and Scott climbed in. Heard him comment to Reed, “Good luck with that one.

Driver eased into traffic and Reed grabbed a bottle of Rare Breed bourbon from the bar compartment. “I take it from seeing pink above jeans this afternoon you like panties.” Pouring shots, he passed one to Scott. “Tell me, are those you’re wearing tonight the same color blue?”

“I can tell you where I bought them and how much you’ll have to pay for a pair if you’re interested.”

“The store’s name will suffice.”

Situation became more unbearable by the minute. “I’ll make sure you get it.”

Thank you.”

Prick got on every one of Scott’s nerves. “Whatever.” And as suspected, Reed's eyes didn't miss a thing. He remembered the color panties Scott wore earlier.

COVER STORY

“I painted with love until she died. I never expected to meet him.”

Weston Tucker overhears a young man lament finding adequate living space or having to return to his father’s home. Perfectly manicured fingers pulled out a credit card few can name on sight alone. Young, far too handsome, Wes thinks to knock the spoiled brat, whose family name he recognizes, down a peg or two. With paint stained fingers, he proffers his card offering a room in return for having the inside of his home painted.

“He’s crotchety, mean, disdainful. He smells damn good, he’s delicate, gentle, and oh so very nasty!”

Hunter Gold’s job as an escort for Brief Knights has to end or his father threatens to cut him off. At the same time, his roommate leaves Hunt in a fix for housing. A few more escort assignments are booked but he takes on a job painting for a recluse to have a place to live and a small salary until he can straighten things out. Hunt never dreamed of becoming enamored of the enigmatic loner he worked for.

A young escort, a painter with a secret, and sex in the pantry. Paint gets everywhere!

A standalone MM/May-December Romance, with an HEA, and no cliffhanger. Includes lingerie fetish, angry sex, and explicit sexual language with cursing!

EXCERPT:

Tired of waiting for Scott to return from the banquet room, Hunt went searching in case his client showed up. Odd how empty the bar stood. Normally had to comb for seats on a Saturday night. He reached the door and stopped dead in his tracks. “What the hell?”
Scott appeared behind him. “Keep walking because he’s already seen you. Stop now and you’ll never know.”
Twisting his head, Hunt glared. “What is this?”
“Ban says I’m supposed to tell you; wait, let me remember so I get it right. He said say, ‘Payback is a bitch, motherfucker’.”
Hunt jerked toward the room and stared at Weston. Christ, he’s fucking beautiful! Stanton was nowhere to be seen but Ban stood not far behind Wes, lips curled. He had nerve to blow a kiss before turning away.
Months and months ago, he’d given Banyon, totally against his wishes, an opportunity to see Stanton once more. It worked. Those two were inseparable, would always be.
Was this his chance? Thankful he wore a suit and looked his best, he strode toward Weston who gazed at Hunt but never moved. Bastard wasn’t going to make this easy.
When he reached Wes, he took Hunt’s hand and tugged him from the room. Not saying a word, they passed through the bar, into the Beverly Chateau’s lobby, and to the elevators. Still, Wes said nothing. Doors opened and a couple exited. Weston half pulled, half pushed him into the empty elevator. Doors barely slid shut before he shoved Hunt against a cold, metal wall. “A fucking escort?”
“Weston, there was no way to tell you.”
“You could have opened with ‘by the way men pay me to be with them’.”
“It’s not like that.” Heat suffused Hunt’s face. “I owe you nothing. I was hired to paint your fucking house.” Letting this go, entered his mind. Run away. No, I won’t!
“Which you never finished.” Reaching the third floor, he drew Hunt in his wake. “I rented a room to escape the crowd. Seems it won’t be wasted.” Wes slid a key card in and practically kicked the door open. “I’ll pay you.” It closed and he spun on Hunt. “What exactly did they get for their money?”
“You bitch.”
“I fucking wanted you.” He slammed Hunt against the door. “What. Did. They. Get?”
“Wanted?” Hunter yearned for more. If they couldn’t have it, may as well know now. “No one got what you did.” He touched Wes’ lips, stroked his thumb across them. “No one ever will.”
“I fucking hate you.” He hadn’t released his hold on Hunt, didn’t ask him to leave.
Angry sex. “Hate me while you show me how much you want me, hate me slowly, and gently. Hate me with your mouth, hands, and God knows, I want you to hate me with your cock.” He leaned and kissed Wes. “If you can’t do that, let me go.”
“Tell me what was different?” His voice softened. “What, Hunter?”
“You got a piece of my heart.” He bent toward Wes, whispered in his ear, “What are you wearing beneath the suspenders and handsome dress shirt, WT?”
“Goddamn you.”
♂♂♂♂
Hunt hadn’t been in Wes’ house long but when he left, it grew too quiet. Loneliness haunted hallways. Sometimes he stood in the doorway of the room Hunt had occupied which was now twice the size. He tried to picture him in bed, foot propped on pillows. Wes attempted to capture his scent.
Absent. Everything gone.
Planning for this showing, getting art work finished, selecting what he wanted to present and sell to the public, it’s all that kept him going. Often, Hunt whispered through his mind. Which pieces had he seen when he snuck into the studio? Did he like any one in particular?
Wes drove himself crazy.
And now here he was, in front of Wes asking to be taken gently, quietly.
“I like when you call me WT.”
“I like your hair out.”
“I thought of you.” He slipped suspenders down his arms and began to unbutton his shirt. He removed it revealing a corset with a zipper up the front. Fucking glad he’d worn black with lots of lace. Thong felt sexy as hell cutting the crease of his ass.
Wes’ heart stuttered when Hunt sucked in air and murmured, “More beautiful than I envisioned.” He peeled his jacket off, loosened and removed his tie before unzipping Wes’ top enough to latch onto a nipple. He licked, sucked, and ended by teasing the taut peak with teeth.
“Fuck, that feels amazing.”
“Do you realize what you do to me, WT, the power you hold over every fucking part of me?”
“If it’s half what I feel, I don’t know how you’re still standing.” Wes was swept off his feet, literally. “I’m suppose to do you slowly, quietly.”
“And you will.” Hunt tossed him into the center of the bed and crawled between his legs. Unbuttoning Wes’ pants, he snatched them down. “Fuck me. A black thong.” Bunching the corset out of his way, he pinched nipples as he kissed Wes’ stomach from one side to the other, delved into his belly button. “My dick hurts to be inside you.” Christ, Hunt tortured Wes when he pulled his panties down enough to lick the crown of his prick. Drawing the head through lips, he pulled it down his throat. Head bobbed up and down as he swallowed. “Mm, yeah. I could lap this all night.”
“I don’t have all night.” Wriggling from beneath Hunt, Wes pushed him onto his stomach. He stretched on top of him and ground into his ass. “How does your cock feel now?”
“Jesus, it’s hard, wet.”
Continuing to rub up and down on Hunt’s clothed body, Wes moaned as he nipped one ear then the other. He ran hands down Hunt’s side, reached beneath him with one and massaged his shaft. “You are hard.”
“And I’m going to come in my pants.”
“Liar, you just want to get them off.”
“Yes, please.”
“Right. Wouldn’t do for you to show up downstairs with cum-stained pants.”
Wes rolled him over, fumbled with shirt buttons and pushed it off. Hunt murmured, “Damn, I missed you.” He already had pants undone and shimmied to remove them after kicking shoes off. He stroked Wes’ arms, his chest and belly.
“You missed crotchety, disdainful old me?”
“Ban talks too much and I’d never say old.”
“Banyon made me realize something.”
“Yeah?”
“I liked having you around.”
“For painting?”
“You know better.” Mounting Hunt, Wes slipped up and down his body. “It’s more.” Sitting up, he let Hunt’s fat prick rub against his through material growing damp with precum. “It’s this.” He bent forward and stole Hunt’s mouth. Tongues tangled, probed, tasted. Satisfied, he moved his mouth down, down until he captured a taut nipple. Biting it, he rocked and rolled against Hunter’s crotch and when moans buffeted air against his hair, he sighed. “I want more.” He reached between his legs and moved the strip of material to the side. “I missed this.” Spitting in his hand, mixing it with semen coating Hunt’s knob, he rose up and eased down until Hunt’s shaft was buried inside his ass. “Fuck yes!” Leaning Wes murmured, “No one gets my ass like this but you.”

Tuesday Talk

Three men from Brief Knights discuss their stories.

The group being interviewed today not only became friends, they are each other’s confidants. The men affectionately refer to themselves as femscorts. Young, slender, effeminate, outspoken, extremely fond of women’s lingerie, and enamored of older men. All three work for Brief Knights, an agency contracted by wealthy men seeking companionship for trips, special events, and sometimes to stave off loneliness. They’ve been gathered by author, J. Hali Steele, to talk about various adventures experienced during time employed at Brief Knights.
Banyon Jameson walked into the spacious room and glanced around. Appeared to be an office and only two other people had arrived. His best friend, Hunter Gold, and a good friend of both him and Hunt, Scott Ketchum. The author who called them together was nowhere in sight.
“I don’t have all day.” Always vocal, Scott questioned, “Where is this lady?”
“Guess she’ll be here soon. Not like you have anything important to do.” Hunt poked through stacks of clipped pages. “She writes a lot.”
“About what?” Ban joined in perusing packets. “Good Lord! This is about me.”
“You’re kidding, right?” Hunt snatched it. “Played for Pay.” He glimpsed a few pages then peered at Ban. “Jesus! It’s your life story.”
“It can’t be my life story. I’m alive and, sweet peter, I hope I have some living left to do.”
“I know you hate vulgarity but why don’t you just say suck my dick?” Hunter glared, “Had no problem cursing when you sent that message with Scott calling me names.”
Banyon grinned. “You didn’t like being told ‘pay back is a bitch’?”
“I didn’t like you calling me a motherfucker.”
“Exactly what you were when you engineered that meeting between Stanton and myself.” He didn’t expect his best friend to betray him. “It was wrong.”
“Was it? Seems like I was responsible for you finding the love of your life.”
“Doesn’t matter, Hunter. You should have told me he was going to be at the party so I could…”
“Could what? Refuse to attend? Where would you be now if I’d told you?”
Stanton Kavanaugh had become Ban’s partner. “Fudge nuts, you’re right.” Leafing through another pile, he exclaimed, “Hah, hah!”
“Find something interesting?” Hunter reached for the fastened pack Ban held. “When He Plays. Son of a bitch, this woman is prolific.” He slammed it to the desk. “I don’t care what she writes about me but Weston Tucker is hands off.”
“The hell he is.” Scott had a sheaf of papers in hand. “Everyone should know about the dude’s crotchety, disdainful, mean ass.”
“Fuck you. And don’t call him dude.”
“He does hate that.” Scott plopped into a big comfy chair and threw legs over one arm. “Does he dribble paint on you in his secret studio?” He grinned. Bet Wes drapes that tight little body of his over your big ass and gives it to you the way we all know you like it.
“God's sake, shut up!
Oh, like the world won't know now? It's written in black and white.
Kiss my ass. So what if I like being on the receiving end. You’re jealous she penned nothing about you.” Hunt groaned, “We may never. Look at all the manuscripts on those shelves!”
“Don’t like having your dirty laundry aired before the world, Hunter? Pay back and all that.” Banyon snapped his fingers as he considered Scott who had grown quiet. “What are you reading?”
“It’s called Paid To Play.” He quickly flipped pages. “About me and Reed Chandler.”
“Is something the matter?” Hunt walked to where Scott sat. “Christ, if you’re going to wear one of those studded, goth kilts, keep your legs closed. No one wants to see your pierced junk.”
“Junk? Shit, a prize hangs between these thighs and it is covered in the finest silk panties. Bought them yesterday at a shop on Rodeo Drive. You should see the lovely corsets they stocked in every color.” Scott never took his eyes from pages he rapidly turned. “I’m not sure I like this J. Hali Steele.”
“What’s up?” Ban joined Hunt beside Scott’s chair.
“I don’t mind she’s not letting me have sex yet but, damn her!” He threw the pile to the floor, clip fell away, and papers skittered in every direction.
Ban grabbed sheets and began rearranging them in numerical order when he saw the paragraph Scott must have read. He studied his friend who stared out a small window. “Sweet peter, I’m sorry, Scott.”
Hunt snatched the single page and read the following conversation from Paid To Play out loud—
“Reed, you’ve convinced yourself you want something that you truly don’t. I know you better than anyone and he’s not your type.”
“Nothing about me is your business anymore, Shel. You walked away.”
Shel stroked a finger down Reed’s face. “I’m back, baby.”
“Damn, Scott, this means you may not get an HEA.”
“Reed contracted my services for a month.” Scott jumped from the seat. “There are three weeks left.”
Ban sighed. “Seems Reed and Shel had a long relationship.”
Scott strode to the door and stared over his shoulder. “J. Hali Steele hasn’t written THE END yet.”

Sex in the pantry, paint everywhere!

WHEN HE PLAYS

A standalone MM/May-December Romance, with an HEA, and no cliffhanger.
EXCERPT:
He woke up in near darkness. Dusk had settled and Wes found himself ravenous.
Clock read seven-forty. Foregoing a bath, he showered quickly. Standing in front of his mirror, he ran hands over his still damp body. He’d lost weight over the last month because he failed to eat properly. The small light he turned on revealed pale skin as he brushed his hair. Yanking it back, he fashioned it into a loose plait.
He heard the back door shut. Judy leaving for the night. “Good.”
Opening a bottom drawer, he snatched out underwear and a top. Putting both on, he stroked his dick, loved how it came to life beneath soft material. Masturbation had become a major part of his lone existence. Teeth worried his bottom lip, fingers teased nipples as he continued fondling himself. “Not yet.” Later, when he could really relax in bed and enjoy it. “A bite to eat first.”
Donning a robe, he slipped out his door and padded, barefoot, down to the kitchen. His home hadn’t been this quiet for the last two days. He’d meant to pay attention to whether or not light shone beneath the door to Hunter’s room. Hopefully he remained off his foot. He opened the refrigerator and scrutinized its offering. Leftover lasagna and… Lo and behold, Judy prepared meatloaf. Since he was a kid, it remained a fave for sandwiches. “Mayo, mayo. Damn.” He left the fridge door gaped and went to check the pantry. Grabbing a jar, he turned to see Hunter gazing at him. Fuck, fuck!
Wes’ robe stood wide open and he wore white lace panties with a matching camisole.
Hunt approached and removed the jar from his hand. He dropped it to the floor and Wes heard it roll into the pantry. He pushed Wes against the kitchen counter. “Damn, who knew. You are fucking hot.”
Wanting this, not wanting it, shocked Hunt wasn’t shocked, but not so damn far gone he forgot who the fuck he was. Wes leaned into him and whispered, “This will happen.” He evaded Hunt’s grip, twisted him to face the counter. “But it won’t be like you think.”
♂♂♂♂

Snatching Hunt's sweats down, Wes ground against his butt. "Do you have a problem?"
“No, fuck no.”
“Good.” Wes had released his cock, it rubbed along Hunt’s crease and he loved it. Elastic from his panties abraded tops of Hunt’s thighs. “Because I’m going to fuck you.”
“Yes, please, please, yes!”
“Listen at you beg.” He stroked his length back and forth between the apex of Hunt's legs until he felt a dribble of precum slide down the inside of his thighs. “You want it?”
“Wes…” Wes what? Was not going to be ‘Wes, stop’. Hunter had hoped for a day he’d find a man like the one getting ready to take him like a pussy. A thin, feminine man, one with soft hands, one who looked beautiful but could ride his ass and fill it with semen until he shot loads of his own cum. “I…oh Jesus!”
“Do. You. Want. It?” Heard Wes spit in his hand and work it along his cock. “I don’t hear you.”
“Yes, God, do it.”
“You bareback anybody else?”
“No, no.”

“You never will. This is going to be mine.”

MM/May-December Romance

EXCERPT:
A face that more than matched the voice. “He is one hot, big son of a bitch,” Hunter uttered as Ban checked out Stanton Kavanaugh. “If you decide no, or he’s unhappy with you, I’ll gladly step in.”
“Trust me, he’ll be happy. “Ban sipped brandy slowly taking in the client. Styled, almost black hair with gray touching temples was longer and slightly curling at the neck. He hoped for blue eyes which would grow appreciatively darker when…
“Ban?”
Big but not out of shape large. He faced Hunt. “Huh?” Taller, heavier than Hunter, he didn’t appear to carry loads of muscle which suited Ban fine. “Wish he’d stand and stretch or something.”
“Go meet him already. He’ll rise when you shake hands. I gotta go.”
“Let me watch, see if he has any idiosyncrasies.”
“I’m fine standing here drooling. Don’t know the last time I met a man larger than me.”
“Shut up. You like them scrawny. You just need one to take control.”
“Fuck you.” Hunt chuckled. “You’re right though. Those types all think I want something entirely different because I’m big and muscly.”
Soft lighting above the booth’s table showed Stanton Kavanaugh’s suit jacket fit flawlessly. A few shades lighter than navy complimented a sun-kissed tan. Long legs stretched out and a single strap monk shoe peeked from beneath the table. Hard to tell color. God, let them be brown. Blue would be too matchy-matchy, black spelled overdressed when paired with royal blues unless the occasion was formal.
One finger repeatedly tapped a glass in front of him. A nervous twitch.
Making his way back to the man’s face, Ban sighed and didn’t care it audibly slipped out. “That face plastered on a billboard and a large portion of gay men will flock to it as if he’s the messiah.”
“Twinks.”
“I dislike that word.”
“I know. Hoped to make your skinny ass mad enough to get over there. Don’t have all night waiting for you to be comfortable.”
“I’m good, you can scoot.”
Hunt eyed Ban. “You sure?”
“If he kills me, I won’t care if he lets me kiss those breathtaking lips first.”
“Ban, ring me in the morning?”
Something they always did for each other. “Promise.” Escorts led a perilous existence. Never knew what psycho might get hands on a credit card and order up a hunk to slaughter. Ban preferred his body parts stay where they were. “I’ll be packing for the weekend when I get in.”
“That sure, huh?”
“I am.” Ban’s interest in this client had blossomed as he studied him. Looking confident and composed, the finger tap sent a contrasting message.
“Alright, man, see you then.”
Two rows of tables separated the bar from window booths. Banyon threaded through and stopped a foot from the table. “Stanton Kavanaugh?”
“You and your friend decided I look sane and harmless?”
“I’m Banyon.” No last names. If a client got hooked on an escort, it’d be difficult to locate them without it, though, not impossible. He tilted his head. “Sane? Probably. Harmless? I seriously doubt it.”
“I see. Have a seat.”
He didn’t get up. Darn!
♂♂♂♂
Beautiful! Stanton had observed both young men wondering which would walk his way. He’d prayed for the shorter brunette. Slender, fit, not muscular, and pretty didn’t quite do justice as a description. His outfit screamed fashionable. Midnight blue trousers, a white V-neck covered by a sedate gray jacket with sleeves effectively pushed up showing just a bit of shirt cuff. Navy wingtip with gray suede. Damn, I hoped for more flashiness. Stanton didn’t fear effeminate men, felt no way less of a man because of his attraction to them.
Still, this fucker is sharper than hell. And I love it! Stanton took pride in his attire and appreciated men who dressed well.
Sooty lashes any woman would covet, blinked over brown eyes the color of barrel aged whiskey.
Magic will happen anywhere he puts those lips.
“I play black jack, maybe catch a show. Generally, I’m not going to do a damn thing. This trip is for me to relax unwind. Are you interested?”
“At your service.”
“I haggle over contracts for a living and prefer it not be such a drawn-out process in my private life.”
“I get that.”
“Might the likelihood exist for a bonus?”
“That possibility always exists.” Piercing eyes glinted with steel. “If I choose to.”
Realizing his fingertip rapped against a glass, Stanton curled and flattened his fist on the table. “I’d send a limo under normal circumstances but I’ll see you at LAX. Nine sharp.” He pulled out his wallet, extracted a card that contained his name and number only. Stanton pushed it across the table. “Contact me when you arrive. Doesn’t matter which gate.”
“Tonight?”
“Call me Kav.” Not using his first name kept things on a business level. He stood and stepped to where Banyon sat. “I won’t bet on who is harmless in this equation.” His next move was counterproductive to maintaining the sort of relationship he sought. Caressing his escort’s face, running a thumb along pouty lips, Stanton disclosed, “You’re fucking beautiful and I don’t doubt you could hurt a man badly.”
If he chooses to. Banyon didn’t need an old… Goddamn it.
